Projects and Residencies

What is the Projects and Residencies Category?

This category is designed to assist regional communities in partnership with artists and cultural advisers, to create artworks that are high quality and have the ability to transform the way a community identifies itself. Projects and Residencies supported by the Regional Arts Fund must be developed and managed in a collaborative way. Projects and Residencies may encompass any artform or cultural activity. The fund supports activities that promote sustainable regional arts and cultural development.

What can we apply for?

You can apply for projects and residencies that involve professional artists working with communities to develop skills and produce artworks. Usually funding covers the cost of artists’ fees, accommodation, travel, materials, publicity, documentation and any other cost associated with the project or residency. Your project might centre on particular community celebrations, be part of a festival, or be the starting point for a particular target group to be connected into the community. Projects and Residencies is a great way to form partnerships across different sectors of the community.

Are we eligible?

All regional membership based organisations; community groups or networks working in a not-for-profit setting and local governments are eligible to apply. Organisations or community groups (including regional arts and cultural groups), don’t need to be incorporated but must nominate an incorporated organisation with an ABN to administer the funds and auspice the project.

How do we apply?

You must discuss your application with the Country Arts WA Regional Arts Development Officer before submitting your application.
The Regional Arts Development Officer can be contacted on regional freecall 1800 811 883, 08 9200 6208 or info@countryartswa.asn.au

How is our application assessed?

The Regional Arts Development Officer will check your application and contact you if any further information is required. The Regional Arts Fund Panel, made up of six members from across regional WA will assess your application against the criteria and make a decision. You will be notified by mail about the outcome.
